The Code
The path of a Jedi is focused on maintaining peace and balance while resisting feelings of anger, hatred, and other intense emotions. Through courage and acceptance a Jedi opposes the dark side of the Force. Intense emotions such as anger, fear, or hatred can create loss of focus and cloud a person's judgment. Jedi practice mindfulness and emotional understanding to prevent these emotions from overwhelming them. Through meditation and self reflection, Jedi learn to stand beside their emotions and maintain a tranquil state of mind during their journeys. This inner peace allows a Jedi to act with clarity and compassion, remaining dedicated to the Jedi Code. A Jedi's life is one of service of the greater good without seeking personal gain. Selflessness and humility are fundamentals of the Jedi way.
A Jedi spends their life as a dedicated student of the Force. They recognize that knowledge is a pathway to enlightenment and peace. They seek to understand the interconnectedness of all things. Jedi learn to have compassion and respect for all things and understand that empathy is key to preserving harmony in society and nature. Through teaching and mentorship, Jedi pass on their wisdom to future generations, ensuring the survival of their values and beliefs. A Jedi understands the importance of honesty and transparency and they do not hide or disclose information while in the pursuit of understanding. Continuous learning and enlightenment guide a Jedi’s journey. Through study, meditation, and reflection, Jedi strive to understand the Force and the universe. A Jedi understands the connection between mind, body and spirit and trains all three parts of themselves to the best of their ability with balance and dedication.
A Jedi should only accept one Padawan at a time, ensuring focused and dedicated mentorship. Recklessly pursuing desires or ambitions can cloud judgment and lead to the dark side. A Jedi must act with mindfulness and control, maintaining calmness and compassion. While feelings of love are not forbidden, they must not lead to possessiveness or unhealthy attachment. Their love must be selfless, unconditional and focused on others. To let go of attachment, a Jedi practices mindfulness and detachment. They understand that attachment can cause unwanted emotions, like greed and jealousy and lead to suffering. By letting go of personal desires, attachments and their own ego, a Jedi maintains clarity of mind and purpose. Their actions must remain aligned with the light side of the Force.
A Jedi respects the natural flow and balance of the universe, understanding that all living things are interconnected. They understand the balance of the light and dark side of the Force and they strive to live in harmony with nature, accepting its wisdom and cycles. By aligning with the natural order, a Jedi maintains both inner and outer peace, avoiding actions that disrupt the delicate balance of the Force. A Jedi uses their ability to flow with the Force in a harmonious and often seemingly effortless way.
The Jedi are connected to the Force and are in touch with its omnipresence. A Jedi understands that with death comes rebirth, recognizing the natural order of life. Life and death are part of an eternal cycle and through death life is renewed. This understanding allows a Jedi to transcend the fear of loss and death. A Jedi understands time and space to be a perceptual construct of our experience, and that becoming overly attached to these illusions can lead to fear and suffering, which are paths to the dark side. The Cosmic Force and the Living Force are two halves of one whole as the Cosmic Force represents the energy that connects all beings and the Living Force embodies the energy present within all things in the material world. Together, they make up a unified presence known as the Force.
